PLATFORM OVERVIEW
Bionanotechnology and microfluidics provide the foundations for GeneFluidics' testing platform. Our use of bionanotechnology drives high signal to noise ratios (sensitivity), while the incorporation of microfluidics permits operational simplicity. More specifically, the ultra-sensitivity of our electrochemical detection module, embodied in plastic sensor chips and a reader instrument, is enabled by proprietary nanometer scale sensor surface treatments. In contrast, the simplicity of our automated sample preparation module, embodied in disposable cartridges and instrument-based fluidic handling components, is made possible through our use of novel injection-molded microfluidic structures. |
